Butterknife Folk is a small-batch artisanal gelateria with an ever-changing selection of wacky and creative flavours. Featuring a “no menu” concept, the gelato is made in-house from scratch, only one pan at a time. Tucked in a prominent but compact corner in a bustling mall, SILO designed a layout to maximize spatial efficiency and facilitate the flow of traffic, especially on busy days.

A large 2.2 meter long mirror positioned above the gelato cabinet reflects Butterknife Folk’s daily selection. These surprising flavours can be seen from a distance, piquing the curiosity of passers by, and giving customers in line much needed extra time for making the difficult and unexpected decision between “chicken rice”, “chendol” or “chilli crab” as they approach the counter.
